Turning back the time, this story takes inspiration from the iconic 70s era in focusing on colour and bold conversational prints, especially paying homage to the work of Ozzy Clark and Celia Birtwell. During their marriage, the couple collaborated in fashion design, with Ozzy designing the dresses whilst Celia designed the prints. Renowned for their use of colour and conversational prints, their dresses are often what comes to mind when you think of fashion in this period.

Combining a range of 70s style dresses, charming Liberty prints and stand-out colours, including the stunning hibiscus and nettle, this collection creates a playful mix between prints and plains. The knitwear in this story features colour-blocking which cleverly breaks up a plain knit, creating an eccentric but trendy look which is exactly what 70s fashion was all about.

This story draws inspiration from Art Nouveau, an international art movement dated around the 1890s. Famed for its use of decorative lines, beautiful floral prints and bold colours, this story combines the classic with the modern. The softer palette of carnation and pearl collaborate with the bolder pops of colour present in the ruby and ivy, creating a playful palette reminiscent of the Art Nouveau style.

The fabrics and shapes in this story have been carefully chosen to create a wonderfully elegant capsule wardrobe, with many styles making the perfect layering piece for those colder winter months ahead. From cosy Scottish cashmere to lofty alpaca yarns, standout white blouses to fabulous floral prints, this story makes the perfect Autumn Winter wardrobe.

Always taking inspiration from the great outdoors, this story is inspired by the magical Prospect Cottage situated on the picturesque Kent coast, famously inhabited by Derek Jarman. An English filmmaker, Jarman’s work redefined gardening as an art form, with his unique gardening style cleverly merging the use of sculpture amidst the untamed English plants. His story evokes an uplifting sense of freedom, which can also be said for the collection.

The palette for this story is wildly romantic and reminiscent of Jarman’s love of botanics and landscapes, aligning with our own love of the outdoors. With the wintery tones of gentian blue and violets, contrasting with the tones of sand, foam and swan, this story is made for fans of blue hues and evocative of an evening’s walk on the beautiful British coast.

Paying homage to the River Lossie, a small river in North East Scotland, this story was inspired by our design teams visit to a factory in the town of Elgin. At Brora, we take much of our inspiration from Scotland. Renowned for the historic textile craft, this story is influenced by textiles, workmanship, and the history of Scottish weave.

A true Brora heritage design, Fair Isle takes prime place in this story with gorgeous colours and patterns that sit perfectly together. Combining subtler tones with the contrasting hues of dusk and saffron, this story makes the perfect Autumn Winter Wardrobe that can be easily styled. A contemporary collection that can be worn by many, this story perfectly contrasts boyish, oversized pieces with more feminine details and fabrics.

The setting for this seasons Merino story is Eltham Palace, a charming Tudor royal residence in Greenwich, London. The palace underwent an opulent art deco renovation in the 1930s, which beautifully combined the original medieval features with an ultra-modern 1930s design. The vibrant hues of citrine and garnet are balanced by the earthier tones of navy, alpine and pewter, giving a more formal feel to the collection. This perfect pairing of colours makes the pieces in this story bold, yet easy to wear for all.

Expertly crafted using an unrivalled quality of Merino yarn, some of these pieces can be mixed and matched to make the perfect loungewear for a more relaxed look. But do not worry, in homage to the spectacular Eltham Palace, this story is also comprised of stunning silk skirts and dresses befitting of an occasion.
